Course qualifying for paid leave (F-marked) for elected union representatives

An F-marked course means that as an elected representative, you may attend under the Employment (Co-Determination in the Workplace) Act with full pay.

When can you attend an F-marked course with full pay?

To be covered by the Employment (Co-Determination in the Workplace) Act, you must be elected by the members at your workplace. The local union club’s board must have notified the employer of your position as an elected representative, and there must be a collective agreement in place at the workplace.

In addition:

  • Your union appointment and the course content must be connected to the workplace and your relationship with the employer.
  • The employer must be notified at least 14 days before the course begins.
